So we took the girls to see a movie tonight and discovered that Regan is still not quite ready. She wiggled and squirmed and whined and watched the movie and talked and watched the movie and cried and watched the movie and asked for snacks and watched the movie and…youget the point. Live and learn.
The movie was really cute and Linsey enjoyed it tremendously which was pretty much the point. After it ended we walked across the parking lot to have dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. We haven’t been there in a long time, but Linsey really loves it and tonight was kind of her night (since Regan steals the show and attention a lot of the time) so it was her pick. I like Sweet Tomatoes because of how they have it set up. You walk in and are bombarded by the salads (which is good) and the plates are dinner sized. Then you come across the soups and the bowls are probably only big enough to hold a tiny bit more than a cup of soup each. The bakery station and pasta station are next and the plates you have to use are very small. They remind me of the plates that you set a tea cup on, but with out the spot for the tea cup. Anyway, the dishes are very small so you are only capable of eating small amounts at one time and then you actually have to make the conscience choice to get up, walk back over to the food and then get more. I really like that concept.
I made a super yummy salad with spinach, butternut squash and zucchini strips, black olives, hard boiled egss, garbanzo beans and broccoli. I put a fat free honey mustard on top.
Next I had a small bowl of extreme heat, vegetarian chili with a corn bread muffin square about the size of the palm of my head, but it was soooo good. It was sweet and had corn in it and it helped cut the ‘extreme’ heat of the chili that I topped with sour cream, cheddar cheese and green onions.
For dessert (because who doesn’t want something sweet after that meal?) I had another small bowl with a caramel pumpkin bread pudding and fat free vanilla frozen yogurt. I would have to say that my dinner was really yummy!
