Hey Guys!
I’m home and watching Oprah as I type this post because my new found hero, Michale Pollan, is on and I ADORE him!! I think he is brilliant, genius and going to make people truly stop and think and make their voices heard with regards to the foods they eat and where it comes from.
Speaking of food…breakfast was so amazingly good today. I bought Ezekiel muffins at Whole Foods over the weekend and couldn’t wait to dig into one this morning. I sliced it in half, toasted it and topped it with a mixture of 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 tbsp canned pumpkin, 1 tbsp dried cranberries and a small banana. It was super yummy and kept me feeling full into lunch time. SCORE!!!
Lunch was amazingly good too. It has been an all around GREAT food day!! I took an Arnold sandwich thin and topped it with a HUGE helping of the mockamole from Monday night’s dinner, 2 tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese, lots of hot sauce and a Morningstar Farms spicy black bean burger. It was without a doubt the BEST BURGER EVER!! YUM-O!! I also had a super sweet honey crisp apple with it.
Before I got off work it began to snow and by the time Regan and I got to Linsey’s school it was SNOWING big fat snowflakes and it was sticking!!!
but in a good way…I’m praying for a snow day!
The girls and I enjoyed a little snack once we slipped and slid our way home. The girls each had a 365 apple bar and I had a soyjoy bar, but I wasn’t super thrilled with this flavor. I ate it, but probably won’t buy the chocolate peanut butter one again.
Gonna say goodbye for now because I really want to watch Oprah!! Linsey and I are glued to the television soaking up everything Michael Pollan is saying. God Bless him!!!
Pay the farmer now or pay the doctor later. ~ Michael Pollan

Have you read any of his books yet? I know you’d love them and I think you’d end up learning a lot. I started reading his stuff a few years ago and was fortunate to be able to see him speak at the St. Louis County Library. He’s such an articulate man and was very kind and open to a very angry/former employee of Monsanto. I wish you could have seen him, it was great!
@Elisabeth…I haven’t read any of his books yet. I’ve read Diet For a New America by John Robbins and have (but haven’t yet started) Eating Animals by Johnathan Safron Foer. Jason bought it for me a few months back, but my book shelf is filled to the brim with books I’m reading or hoping to read!! MOTHERHOOD…
I love Johnathan Safron Foer! Haven’t read Eating Animals but I’ve heard great things about it. Everything is Illuminated is one of my all time favorite books!
