Makin the King Proud (sort of)

Hey all!!

Quick post cause Linsey and I have a date with the TiVo…American Idol was on tonight and we like to watch it AFTER it’s over so we can fast forward through the commercials. :)

Dinner tonight would have made the “King” proud…sort of. It wasn’t fried, but I had a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich for dinner with a little drizzle of honey. YUM-O! On the side I had a serving (or 2) of these babies…

These are, without a doubt, the BEST bbq chips in the ENTIRE world. HANDS DOWN!! And they went perfectly with my sandwich.

The girls and I had fun sitting at the table, eating PB&J’s and talking about the day. Laughs with my girls are the best ways to spend dinner time.

While Linsey finishes her homework I’m searching the web for a place to stay in Memphis for – dun dun dun…MEMPHIS IN MAY!!!! It’s my birthday present from Jason and my parents EVERY year!! My birthday is May 10th and the Music Festival is April 30-May 2 and it is the absolute best time! It’s basically 3 days of nonstop music, food and fun on Beale Street at Tom Lee Park. It rained almost the entire weekend last year, but I threw on my rain boots, rolled up my jeans and stood ankle deep (or knee deep depending on the day) in mud and watched amazing musicians for 3 days. Can you ask for a better way to spend a weekend??? I don’t think so.

Hope everyone’s enjoying their evening. I’m going to enjoy the couch, the TiVo and some great (or bad) singing.

The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.  ~ Erma Bombeck

  1. I love that you paid homage to the greatest of greats, the King, in a healthy way! There’s nothing like peanut butter and banana together. And thanks for the Hawaiian nod courtesy of the Trader Joe’s Hawaiian style bbq chips. If they are any bit as good as our local made organic hawaiian chips, they must have been a real treat!
