Too Many Desserts…

Hey Everybody!

How’s your Sunday winding down?? Mine is a little uncomfortable to be quite honest, but I’ll get to that in a little while. First, a recap of the day…

Housework took up most of my morning, but I did manage to clear my google reader as well. So that’s a plus…right?!

I ate like my 8 year old at lunch today!! PB&J baby…cause that’s how I roll. ;) I also had some of the TJ’s Hawaiian style bbq chips and an apple.

I needed something sweet after so I ate another one of the heart cookies we bought at Whole Foods yesterday. I’ll be glad when they’re gone!!

Look how regal Gabe looks laying there staring out the window. If only people knew he was a big baby!!

The middle part of my afternoon was spent crocheting at a friends house. FUN HUH!!! Actually it was the three leaders of our brownie troop learning how to crochet these roman looking headbands so that at our next meeting we can teach the girls how to make them. I didn’t do such a hot job, but hopefully I will get better. :o I did manage to down three chocolate chip cookies while I was there…

Once the girl scout meeting was over I made another quick trip to Whole Foods because I had some coupons to redeem. Also will get to that later… Then I came home and got to work on dinner. I had my whole plan of attack ready for my first attempt at the Passionate Vegetarian challenge, but… my food processor is cracked!!

I was so mad and then sad and then a little relieved that I have another day or so to prepare myself for this whole thing to truly begin. Oh well – onto another dinner that was actually planned for another night this week. I broke out the brussel sprouts, potatoes and these babies…

I came across them at Whole Foods and knew they would be something that Jason and I would LOVE!! So into the oven they went. In the end I made sour cream and chive mashed potatoes, garlic and kosher salt roasted brussel sprouts and the Quorn gruyere cutlets. Dinner was a HIT!!

Like I said earlier, I had a few coupons to redeem at Whole Foods (I forgot them yesterday) and boy were they GOOD coupons!!

The amazingly talented people at Luna & Larry’s Organic Coconut Bliss sent me 5 coupons each one good for a FREE pint of their super yummy ice cream. In the end I redeemed 4 (because today Whole Foods only had 4 flavors) and I’m saving the 5th for a rainy day – or something else…

I have to make sure and tell you all that Luna & Larry’s donated the coupons for free ice cream so that I would try different flavors and then review them here on RealFitMama. So that’s what I’m doing tonight.

We started with Linsey’s favorite…Mint Galactica.

Linsey, Jason and I all three had a small bowl (and finished off pint number 1) and Regan stole a few bites here and there when the mood struck her. I’ve decided to have a review from each one of us because we all had different reactions to tonight’s choice.

1) My Review – I enjoyed the Mint Galactica quite a bit. It had a ton of chocolate shavings all throughout the bowl which I really liked. It wasn’t an overpowering minty flavor which I also liked because usually I’m not a huge mint fan. Overall the ice cream had a great rich, creamy texture without being sticky sweet. It was a very refreshing flavor and I didn’t feel like I had overindulged. I would absolutely buy this flavor if Linsey asked me to.

2) Jason’s ReviewIt was a little odd for me. I think it was a tad too minty and reminiscent of pepto bismol. On the other hand the bowl I had was light yet filling.

3) Linsey’s Review – I loved it! It was really good. It was super minty and it’s just really good. I hope my mom buys me some more soon.

Thank you a million times to Larry & Luna for allowing me to review your product. I can’t wait to try the three other flavors I chose this afternoon.

Well friends, I have to get two little girls to bed and Jason is at his meeting so I’m flying solo tonight. I have a very early morning tomorrow because I’m also flying solo at work for the next two days and have to be in at 7am. I’m planning on hitting the Jillian Michael’s 30 day shredd at about 5:15 tomorrow morning so once the girls are in bed I’m shortly behind them.

Hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend!!
