Hi everybody!
I’m still in bed and trying to see the bright side of it.
My back is still really stiff and sore and my range of motion hasn’t gotten much better, so I’m taking it easy today.
I did manage to get out of bed long enough to make coffee and have breakfast with the girls. Jason had to get them ready, but I was there for moral support.
Regan kept telling me she wanted ‘up’ which means in 2 year old speak…”Mother, I would really love it if you would be so kind as to hold me right now.” It broke my heart to tell her that I couldn’t pick her up.
Having breakfast with my girls is always a great way to start the day, but when you are having a giant mug of coffee, oats with almond butter, pumpkin, maple syrup and banana that just makes it even better!!
The snow has stopped falling here, but it is still bitterly cold out. Linsey was praying for another snow day, but no such luck. She wasn’t real thrilled that she had to back to school, but once she gets there she’ll have a ball. She always does.
Regan couldn’t really understand why they were leaving all bundled up and I was still in my pajamas. She kept saying, “Mommy you go to work too?” I think she misses seeing me at school on days that I’m not there. Hopefully she’ll get used to it because my goal is to be doing something completely different in the VERY near future.
But for now I’m stuck in the bed lying on a heating pad. I’ve been popping ibuprofen and trying to take it easy as much as possible. I’ve been able to respond to all of my eamils (feels good) and I have been tweeting like crazy as those of you who follow me know.
I had lots to say about American Idol last night!!
I’m prepared for the day and have lots to do…from bed.
I’ve still got some computer work to do and then I’ve got gossip to catch up on and a Shape that is still in the wrapper!! Once that is checked off the to do list I have my newest book to read.
I’ve been dying to read this book for awhile, but I have a strict rule that I will NOT start a new book until I’ve finished the old one.
I finished an amazingly written story last night called Happens Every Day by Isabel Gillies. It, in a nut shell, is the story of her marriage and her life - beautiful, perfect, loving – and how it suddenly was taken away from her by her husband and choices he made. She gave up everything she knew to make the dream life her husband wanted come true and in turn he rips it out from underneath her like a rug.
It at times was hard for me to read because some of the things she writes about I have gone through personally so I knew how she felt when she was going through it and I knew how she must have felt when she had to go through it again to write about it.
It was funny and sad and cute and sweet and heart wrenching and infuriating and everything I love in a book. The fact that it was a true story made it that much better. Isabel writes like she’s talking to you over a cup of coffee in a quiet little coffee shop in SoHo. I love that!! I highly recommend this book to every woman out there. Read it…
I guess I better get my ‘day’ started…
What book do you absolutely love?? What type of books do you read most?? If you were writing a book (which I plan to do) what would it be about??
A good rule of thumb is if you’ve made it to thirty-five and your job still requires you to wear a name tag, you’ve made a serious vocational error. ~ Dennis Miller

I hope your back gets to feeling better – I know its hard to be hurt and still have to do your mom duties. I am a little jealous that you are able to enjoy a quiet day in bed (I know it would be better if your back didn’t hurt) I could use one of those!!!! Hope you recover quickly!!!
