Hey guys! Hope you’re enjoying the last few hours of this “beautiful” Sunday. I say “beautiful” because here the weather is been S-U-C-K-Y!!! It’s rained and been cold all day long. I thought that Spring had sprung here, but maybe I jumped the gun a little. Oh well – the forecast is starting to look better.

For lunch I made the family sandwiches and bananas, but I wasn’t really hungry so I made what ended up being the BEST green monster (it was more brown though) ever!!

Today’s mix was…

• 1 c vanilla almond milk
• 1 tbsp Dark Chocolate Dreams
• 1 scoop TJ’s chocolate whey protein
• 1/2 banana
• 1 big handful of spinach

It was super chocolaty and so yummy!!

While we sat around the table Linsey was reading us a joke/prank book that she has and one of the questions was “Can you lick your elbow?” So we all started to see if we could. What? Don’t you do weird and crazy stuff with your family, photograph it and then post it on the internet for EVERYONE to see??

Regan ended up practically eating her sleeve trying to lick hers!

Jason joined in, but had no luck!! He managed to entertain Gabe though…

I even gave it a shot – to no avail!!

Can ANYONE lick their elbow?? I want to meet you if you can!!!

After all the elbow licking was finished I put Regan down for her nap. Apparently multiple elbow licking attempts is very tiring… Then Jason and Linsey left to run some errands and I stayed home to clean house. I got ALL the dishes washed AND put away plus cleaned the kitchen completely. I was going to put away some laundry, but decided I had a much better idea.

Can I just tell you that Michael Moore is a GENIUS!! Every one of his movies is thought provoking, disturbing, conversation starting and angering all at the same time.  I am fully aware that there are some out there who disagree with me (some are in my family) but I happen to feel this way. I happen to be a liberal. I happen to think that George Bush was a TERRIBLE president. I voted for President Barack Obama. I am glad I did so and I WILL NOT be swayed to feel differently. Nor will I try to sway anyone else to feel any way…mine or other wise. All I will say is that if you have not seen Capitalism: A Love Story you might want to watch it with an open mind.

My opinion of the movie is that we all need to be more knowledgeable of things that go on in our own government. We need to exercise our rights to vote, to speak and to question those things that we feel strongly about. The movie taught me a lot of things – some I knew nothing about and some I knew little about. The one thing that it reaffirmed for me is that I DO NOT wish to live in this country the way it is, but like Michael Moore says, I’m not leaving so some things need to change!!!

And now I’m moving on…

Dinner was easy. I’ve decided to experiment with what’s already in my pantry and come up with meals WITHOUT going to the grocery store the rest of the week. We’ll see how it goes.

I threw together some whole wheat bow tie pasta, leftover jarred alfredo sauce mixed with some jarred marinara sauce and made a caesar salad (Linsey’s favorite) then topped it off with some soy buffalo wings. In the words of my new favorite blogger, Mama Pea…

“I’m not the perfect mom by any means.  There are days when the closest thing I get to a shower is a baby wipe and a fresh coat of deodorant, and when dinner is a box of Chik’n Nuggets.  But at least I know that those nuggets didn’t have a mother, and I always serve them with a side of peas.”

Good night readers, friends, family, tweeps, FB Fans or whatever title you may have. I’m signing off for the night to hang out with my girls. Rainy Sunday nights are perfect nights for curling up in my bed and watching a movie…
