Hey Guys!! No, I haven’t figured out how to time travel…YET! I’m just working this post from the end to the beginning. It’s April Fools and I want to go backwards today – OK?
The fam and I just finished a fantastic meal. We had breakfast for dinner because sometimes you just gotta be all out backwards! Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day and sometimes I can’t handle just eating it once.
Oatmeal Coconut Pomegrante Pancakes!! So good even Linsey ate them (without complaining) and there are just enough left for me to have them for breakfast tomorrow.
Here’s how they came to be…
- 1 1/2 c Bob’s pancake mix
- 1/2 c old fashioned oats
- 3/4 c pom juice
- 1/4 c liquid egg whites
- 2 tbsp pomegranate apple sauce
- 1/4 c shredded coconut
Then just mix and make the most yummy pancakes ever!!
There was scrambled eggs and soy breakfast sausage as well.
And a glass of Simply Orange orange juice.
As I drove Linsey and her friend to dance this afternoon we snacked on mini LUNA bars. I didn’t have a full size so I made do with two of the smaller version. It also let me have two different kinds too…
Lunch was leftovers from last night’s Jimmy John’s take out plus a few really sweet (and some sour ones too) grapes!
This morning was rough. The girls were whiny and fighting and I was tired and cranky due to some extremem lack of sleep. We slept with our windows open for the first time last night which I LOVE, but about 12:30 someone decided to start honking their horn instead of getting out of their car. I was then awake until almost 3:00!! Needless to say – I was tired, crabby and NOT in the mood for screaming little girls who were fighting over who gets to sit on the toilet while they brush their teeth. Breakfast was yummy though!!
I had a toasted Ezekiel muffin with 1 tbsp of almond butter, 1 tbsp of Crofter’sNorth America superfruit spread and two “fried” eggs on top. Two cups of coffee helped things along!
Dear readers I need your help! I started this Biggest Loser 16 Week Challenge at work and everyone seemed to think it was a great idea and a fun way to get people thinking more about their health. One of the important parts of the challenge is the weekly weigh in. Everyone weighed in today (with me alone) and I am the only one who knows their weight. However, one coworker refuses to weigh in and said she will instead “tell me how much she loses each week”. I am not officially participating, but if I was I wouldn’t find that to be very fair.
How do I handle this situation?? How do I explain to this person that it’s not fair to everyone else without offending or hurting her feelings?? HELP!!??
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day. ~ Elwyn Brooks White

Well, I know that I personally would not want to be weighed but I would also not sign up for a weight loss contest. I think I would go up to the woman and tell her that she needs to weigh in with you present or she can not be a part of the contest because it would not be fair to everyone else especially if she won and she really didnt lose that much weight… but that is just what I would do!!
There is always one in the crowd isn’t there. I think that the way I would handle this is to tell the coworker that is fine if she wants to participate that way but in order to be eligible for the grand prize she has to weigh in like everyone else. Tell her that there is nothing to be embarssed about and she should feel good about herself that she is taking an active role in making her life better. Make her feel comfortable that you are not going to discuss her weight with anyone. The game has to remain fair.
I love following your blog. I just found yours when you did a guest appearance on Monica’s blog. I have just setup my own blog after a year of following other blogs. Check out my blog is you get a chance.
Thanks for all the comments regarding the “BL Challenge” at work!! We finally came to a compromise and the participant in discussion is not going to actively participate in the weigh in portion just the work out portion since that is an “on your honor” for everyone and she will put in $.50 each week as opposed to $1.00.
I never wanted this to be a weight loss focused contest, but a “let’s see how moving our bodies changes our bodies” kind of thing. I HATE focusing on the weight part of it, but that’s the way the group wanted to go and it makes sense to see what making positive changes can do for you.
Keeping my personal opinion aside of weight loss contests, I do not think it is fair for the woman to participate if she does not get officially weighed. If she makes the choice to participate, she should follow the rules.
Wow this is a great resource.. I’m enjoying it.. good article
Hey Maria! I know this is belated, but I don’t think there’s anything you can do about your co-worker. She’s an adult and should be trusted (hopefully). I weigh-in so many of our co-workers when they want to lose weight and I think nothing of it. I forget their weight within 3 seconds after I jot it down. You can try explaining to her that you’d really like to keep an even playing field for everyone, understanding that NO ONE likes to be weighed in front of others, but that you think nothing of it, it’s just a number. If she still insists, I think she should still be able to participate, “fair” or not. Weight is a funny thing like that!
