Tired of leftovers…

Hey guys! Today has been one of those days that just flew by because I was in such a great mood. I think that once things have worked themselves out, you’ve come to a decision and acted on that decision you can breathe easy and life seems simpler.  That’s how I felt all day today…at ease.  :)

I woke up this morning with just enough time to shower and get my bag packed with everything I needed for the day, but somehow I still managed to be 10 minutes late for work. :( Oh well…life happens.

Breakfast was the last of the dark chocolate cherry pancakes. I only had two left so I topped them with an entire banana and a big scoop of peanut butter. They were scrumptious.

As usual I had my travel mug with hazelnut coffee. What would I do without this thing??

Like I said earlier, once a decision has been made and acted upon, you feel lighter and less stressed. Granted I only gave my notice at work on Monday, but I feel much better since doing so. I feel like I can breathe and am happier all around. That is a good thing!

Lunch was leftovers also. I brought the rest of my salad from dinner last night and added some spinach, fresh strawberries and roasted almonds to it then drizzled it with the last of the poppy seed vinaigrette. I also cooked 4 soy nuggets in the oven to get that extra something I love in a salad.

Look at how big that bowl actually is next to a diet Pepsi can (don’t judge – I occasionally drink diet soda!!)

I polished off the entire salad AND 4 two bite sugar cookies   (2 are pictured)

Once 3:00 rolled around I walked the 20 minute power walk to Linsey’s school, picked her up and we walked home to get ready for our run. :) We managed a 1 mile run in 13 minutes.

She keeps asking what a “good time” is when running, but right now we’re working on completetion  rather than speed. I have been letting Linsey set the pace (which is terribly slow :) ) and talking her through rough patches in every run. I push her to keep running, but take walk breaks when she tells me it’s “really important”. I want her to feel comfortable about this run so we aren’t talking about time at all right now. I make sure to praise her effort and then change the subject. She can be a pushy little thing and is dying to know how she’s doing…

There are still a few days left if you want to donate to Linsey’s Run! All the money raised will go directly to the ASPCA! :)

After we picked up Regan and made it home we all had a snack. The girls wanted goldfish and I decided to give another one of my think Thin bars a try.

This bar was pretty sweet. Maybe even a little too sweet for me. It was more like a dense dessert than a protein bar. It was very filling (which I like) but I think, for me, it was just a tad too sweet. I probably wouldn’t buy this flavor at the store, but over all the bar was good. I’m excited to try some of the other flavors I have waiting for me! :)

Is there something you/your child is working towards that scares you?? How are you handling the pressure??

From the backstabbing co-worker tot he meddling sister-in-law, you are in charge of how you react to the people and events in your life. You can either give negativity power over your life or you can choose happiness instead.  Take control and choose to focus on what is important in your life. Those who cannot live fully often become destroyers of life. ~ Anais Nin
