Poop and Puke?

Good afternoon! Hope that the heat wave isn’t hurting you too badly. Today was the hottest day of the year (so far) in St Louis and it sure felt like it! The girls and I got up and busy right away. For some reason my tummy was super growly even though I ate dinner so late last night. WEIRD! I made one of my favorites…

Yep! I love toasted english muffins topped with peanut butter, strawberry-rhubarb jam and a “fried” egg where the yolk is still a tad bit runny. It kind of makes me a happy girl! :) I’ve discovered that sprinkling a tiny bit of coarse sea salt makes it a THOUSAND times better.

Drinking my orange juice in a super cute mug makes me happy too. I guess I’m easily amused or entertained or pleased or something. :)

Once we dropped Regan off at school (amazingly we were right on time today) Linsey and I hauled ass to the bank and then to the deli to get the work day started. She doesn’t know it yet, but we are keeping track of her hours and going to pay her a very small hourly wage to put into a savings account as long as she keeps helping out with such a good attitude.

Business picked up quite a bit today from yesterday, but still not as busy as we were last week so this all leads me to believe that because of the massive heat wave pounding the midwest right now – people are opting to eat lunch in. HEY – I can’t really blame them… IT’S HOT AS HELL!

My lunch was pretty simple today. I wasn’t super hungry because of the heat so I was really glad to have packed this to munch on.

Topped (again) with Nature’s Path granola it was the perfect mid afternoon snack. Of course by 1:30 my tummy was telling me that lunch was needed so I busted this mini veggie sandwich out with some of the fixins from Jason’s West Coast Reuben special.

Toasted pumpernickel rye, with smoked gouda, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, spicy brown mustard and sweet thai chili slaw – HELLO LOVER!

Walking in the door at home I knew right away that something had happened. I’ll spare you the gory details, but as Regan walked past the kitchen I heard, “Mommy is that poop and puke?”

Yes – that is poop and puke all over my kitchen floor. Thanks Gabe…

According to my training schedule today is supposed to be an active rest day, but I didn’t get my cross training in last night like I was supposed to. I wanted to take a walk once we got home from the deli, but when I saw this on the weather channel website…

I knew that there was no way I could drag the girls out into it. So I guess tonight I will have to pull out the old yoga mat and work on my downward facing dog, squats, dips, crunches and planks to get in a good stretch & strength workout.

Stephanie Update!

So I got a text from sister, Stephanie, last night giving me the update on her Get Fit Plan. Here’s what it said…

“Day two – worked out after work because I couldn’t get up this morning. Legs were sore all day, but made it through and could tell I was already doing better. Jillian sux!”

 WAY TO GO STEPHANIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up sis!

How much do you strength train?? A lot?? A little?? Or not at all??
