SWEEEEEEEET Tomatoes!

Good evening! Today has been a very busy day. The deli did decent business, but nothing like yesterday (and that’s ok!) We were able to get some cleaning done and get out of there early. SWEET!

I tried a new snack today. Actually Linsey and I both tried it.

This particular bar, the Good OnYa bar, (which was given to me as a free sample from the company to try out & review) had a subtle yet sweet taste, but it had more calories in it than I would like for a snack. If I was going to use it as a meal replacement bar then it would have been really good with a piece of fruit or something for sure. This time it was perfect split in half for Linsey and I to each use as a snack.

And the best part is that we both really dug the flavor. SCORE!

I was able to eat lunch at a reasonable hour today…YAY! :) But I didn’t get a picture of it…BOO! :(

I made a veggie sandwich with two slice of the Great Harvest honey whole wheat bread we bought yesterday. It had cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, roasted red peppers, swiss cheese, spicy brown mustard, avocado spread and spring mix tossed in a little bit of honey mustard dressing. It was quite tasty.

Linsey and I split a brownie too. Chocolate is ALWAYS a good thing. ;) Then we had to leave the deli pretty early because the rental agent for the company we rent from was coming over to show us two houses that are for rent in our neighborhood. We’ve made the decision to move closer to Linsey’s school because of redistricting in our area.

Luckily we rent so we have that option and guess what??

WE FOUND OUR NEW HOME!!!

It’s completely perfect. It has 3 bedrooms (which we HAVE to have), central air (which we DON’T have right now), a dishwasher (which we also DON’T have right now), and tons of natural light (which I love a lot!) It is currently being renovated (SCORE!) so we can’t move in for another month or two, but that gives us plenty of time to get things together, purge some unneeded stuff from our basement AND repaint the bedrooms back to the original color.

Linsey is super excited because she gets to pick a new bedroom color again. That is one of our favorite things to do when we move…REDECORATE! :)

After we found our soon to be new home we took the girls out to dinner at our favorite place…Sweet Tomatoes! I get coupons through email ALL the time so it ends up being super cheap.

I started with a spinach and black bean salad that I added chick peas to.

The girls both loaded up on salad and veggies too.

Regan discovered that she likes beets (weird) and Linsey decided she doesn’t like grape tomatoes (shocker), but they both ate loads of veggies all the same.

My second course ( doesn’t that sound fancy?) was a cup of potato leek soup (that I topped with shredded cheddar and green onions) and a corn bread muffin.

Then it was desert time! My favorite… I had a small piece of pineapple upside down cake with vanilla frozen yogurt.

The girls both opted for chocolate, but Regan went the brownie route and Linsey went the frozen yogurt route (and did not want her picture taken again…9 year olds.)

We’re getting ready to settle down and watch Milo and Otis. Have you ever watched it? I remember it from when I was a kid and think it is one of the most adorable movies ever made! I can’t believe my girls have never seen it!

Oh…I almost forgot…I have a giveaway to, um, giveaway. ;) The winners of the Snikiddy giveaway are…
