What Regan Wants

We’re home and in our jammies.  How do you spend a Friday night when you have a 9 year old who’s gone for 9 days and a 2 year old still at home?

Ask the 2 year old what she wants to do…

We asked Regan what she would like to do with Mommy and Daddy while Sissy is away at camp and she answered matter-of-factly with no thought to the question…

“Go eat at Sweet Amatoes!”

I guess tonight what Regan wants – Regan gets. Because eating at Sweet Tomato is exactly what we did. It was weird being at a restaurant (one that’s sort of become “our” restaurant) and having an empty fourth chair.

The whole meal felt a little “off” but on the other hand…Regan was much better behaved without the competition for Mommy and Daddy’s attention while Linsey is away. ;)

I started with a pineapple salad and bleu buffalo potato salad.

I added chick peas and black olives to my salad and loved it, but did NOT love the bleu buffalo potato salad. You couldn’t taste the bleu cheese and the “buffalo” part was way too hot for me. FAIL!

Then I was going to try their rosemary potato soup, but the sign above it said “non-vegetarian” so after questioning the manager he pulled out the recipe book and informed me it was made with chicken stock. :( BOO!

I went with the pasta ragu instead.

After adding a sprinkle or two of red pepper flakes this dish was awesome and I went back for a second serving. Thankfully the plates are small! I cut the spicy by munching on a sweet corn muffin.

Dessert was a new treat…orange creamsicle lava cake topped with vanilla soft serve.

I lucked out and got this dessert straight out of the oven. I love hot pie or cake or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. WIN!!

We’re home now (in our jammies) and watching the cartoon Olivia. Once it’s over it’s bedtime for the Monkey Girl. Then Jason and I are going to watch Legends of the Fall.

According to Jason I’m the last person on the planet to see this movie. I guess I was too busy watching Forrest Gump (they came out the same year) and enjoying Tom Hanks saying “Me and Jenny goes together like peas aaannnd carrots.”

G’Night…

Thanks for posting the “Bulletproof” video. Everytime I hear that song on the radio I keep meaning to look up the music video– it was just as 80s-tastic as I’d expected.

I always get “Legends of the Fall” and “A River Runs Through It” mixed up. As far as I’m aware, Brad Pitt is in both playing a brother in a film that takes place in the country-side. I’ve seen one and not the other.
