We’re home from a day at the river. We had a great time! The girls had a blast, Regan got in and splashed around, Gabe (the rottweiler) got in and splashed around and everyone swam like fishes!
I woke up early and got in a decent 3 mile run/walk – hip problems started up again. UGH…
Once home I got the family up and we got it together. We started off the trip with a much needed stop.
Yes…I went through the drive thru. I had 3 kids and 1 rottweiler in the car – I was in NO mood to take that group inside.
But my beverages were all set…
and breakfast was served!
We got the rest of the crew together. It ended up only being Jason and one extra guest on the trip today. A couple of our friends were supposed to come too, but they didn’t show by the time we said we were leaving so – every man for themselves I guess.
The drive there was almost as much fun as the actual river.
After an hour + drive we were there and the girls let loose!
The water was so clear and…COLD!
Gabe didn’t seem to mind.
The humans did though. We decided to get out and break for lunch.
Nuttzo and strawberry – rhubarb jam on 9 grain bread.
BBQ chips.
Hydration!
Then we moved from the creek spot we were in and down to the REAL river action!
Regan wasn’t quite sure about the “big river”…
Linsey and Olivia were in H-E-A-V-E-N!
By the end of the day everyone was in the water and loving every second of it. We played hard, swam fast and skipped rocks all afternoon!
I just realized (after posting the last picture of the day) that I’m not in a single one!! I swear I was there and had as great of a time as everyone else. Apparently I’m the only one who thinks of taking pictures of memorable moments…
After we got home we ordered pizza. I ate a few pieces of a thin crust veggie lovers pizza from Domino’s. I was starving and not willing to wait for photo ops of my food, but I assure you – it was yummy!
I EVEN GOT ALL THOSE DISHES DONE!!!!!
Time to get the girls in bed. Linsey’s first day of 4th grade is tomorrow and we have to get used to getting up early again. I’m planning on getting my running done in the mornings now that she’s back in school…at least while it’s still warm.
Come back next Sunday where I pick back up on the I’m A Vegetarian series. I have a good one lined up!
