“Nobody objects to a woman being a good writer or sculptor or geneticist if at the same time she manages to be a good wife, good mother, good looking, good tempered, well groomed and unaggressive” -Leslie McIntyre

Ummm – YAY!

I have to tell you just how ecstatic I am! Not because I’m rich (cause I’m not). Not because I’m perfect (cause I’m SO not). Not because my life is exactly what/where I thought it would be (cause it’s not). Not cause I’m off work until Tuesday (cause…) YES I AM!! ;)

Hey people – it’s totally about the little things these days!

I woke up this morning so ready for my breakfast because I barely ate any dinner last night. We had Linsey’s meet the teacher night and didn’t get home until after 8:00.

This bowl of overnight oats was “gone in 60 seconds”…ok not really, but I ate it really fast. I can’t express just how deeply I love bananas and chocolate peanut butter. It’s true love I tell you!!

Regan didn’t have school today so once we got Linsey off for the day we met my mom so she and Regan could have a day of Grandmother/Granddaughter bonding. I’m 100% positive that Regan wore her out.

They came back to the deli for lunch (meaning Regan had NO nap today) and we were able to all sit together and chat a bit over a meal. I had a HUGE garden salad with honey mustard dressing and a piece of toasted pumpernickel rye with melted pepper jack cheese.

Then my mom took Regan to the park so I could finish up what I had left for the day…count down the drawer, drop off pies at the BMW motorcycle shop and then go to the bank.

We spent the majority of the evening putting our kitchen together. Jason bought me a new shelf to make up for the lost pantry space and I was able to get almost everything put away. The dishwasher should be fixed tomorrow…ummm – YAY!! I am so stoked to have a dishwasher again. It has been far too long.

When the girls started telling us how hungry they were we realized it was almost 7:00 and still hadn’t had dinner. Chinese delivery to the rescue…

Vegetable fried rice with tofu triangles was my choice. The girls went with vegetable lo mein and Jason had general tso’s chicken.

But apparently this one just couldn’t hold out for dessert…

Luckily – there wasn’t one!! ;)

Now that Linsey’s gone to bed I may not be far behind. I’m just overjoyed with the fact that I don’t have to be anywhere or do anything (other than finishing the last bits of unpacking) until Tuesday.

Now – it’s time for a “Mommy brag session”…

Linsey has been taking dance classes since she was about 3 years old. Now that she’s 9 she was ready to try out for her dance school’s yearly production of The Nutcracker. Saturday was the big day (we were moving so I couldn’t take her – my mom did) and yesterday we got the results. Linsey was cast in THREE different parts for this years production!! I’m so proud of her and I think that she, for the first time since being in dance, is really proud of herself. She is a beautiful dancer and really loves it which makes it even better. I cannot wait to see this years production. I think she’s going to have quite the crowd of fans in the audience!!

I’m off to enjoy a few quiet moments before crashing for the night. I promise to have new house pics up soon. We still have a little rearranging to do and all of our pictures have to be hung. I’m hoping all of that is done by Monday.

Nighty night…

So glad you had a great day and are getting the dishwasher back! I had Chinese last night too because quite frankly, it was 8:30pm and we hadn’t had dinner and I didn’t want to stand another second.
