Busy Business & Free Salads

HI!! Sorry to have been MIA for the past couple of days. :( Things have just been super crazy and I’m just now getting a chance to sit down for longer than a meal.

I’m attempting to create and keep up with a blog for Maria’s Deli. We are definitely bringing in more and more business, but keeping it consistent on a daily basis has proven to be a little tricky. We’re hoping that by bringing in a few new promotional items and starting this blog (that has our menu on it) will help us out in that area. So my posts here might be a little less over the next few weeks. This deli is our lively hood and we have to make sure it is successful!

This morning, since we gained an extra hour and our kids don’t care that it was Fall Back today, we gained an extra hour of waking time. So we made the most of it. We headed out for breakfast at Bread Co.

Do I really need to tell you what I ate? The usual…

with a hazelnut coffee.

I heart my family!! :)

Then we were off to take care of our Business business…you know…shopping. Restaurant Depot is where the restaurant’s shop! We have to sign a waiver when we take the girls in saying, basically, that we won’t sue them if a giant box falls on them or they get run over by a fork lift. It’s GREAT fun!

This place is like Foodie Heaven…better than Costco AND Sam’s!

Then we bundled Linsey and Regan up to go into the GINORMOUS refrigerator…it really is the biggest thing you’ve ever seen.

We ended up getting more stuff than expected so Jason had to drop us off at home, go by the deli to unload all these purchases before he headed off to Sam’s to get the last few necessary items.

Lunch was a freebie. The kind people at Fresh Express noticed that I am a fan of their product so they contacted me about doing a review and giveaway here on RFM. They sent me some coupons for free salad kits and I tried a new one today.

I ended up throwing in some extra almond slices and topping mine with some veggie buffalo wings, but the salad all by itself was fantastic!

The best thing about these salads is their versatility. They can be mixed up as a side salad with dinner or they can be turned into a main course by adding some tofu or soy nuggets. We have used them as both for a very long time in our house and now two lucky readers can too!

The people at Fresh Express, along with my coupons for free salads, have sent me some to share with you guys! Here’s how to enter:

1) check out their website and browse around.

2) in the comment section of this post tell me which salad kit you most want to try.

3) I’ll pick the two winners by random number integer next weekend!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Ohhh I would want to try the Waldorf Chicken Salad to go! I didn’t even know they make them! I love salads and there are often times I want to take one on the go during our busy schedule, but hate the inconveniance. I hope to see these in my local stores soon!

I would love to try the Chicken Taco Kit! Mexican foods are one of my favorites, but the rest of my family doesn’t think the same! I could use one for myself!

Do you know I’ve always kind of had a secret desire to see what’s inside restaurant supply stores? They seem like so much fun!

As for the salad kits, I think I would want to try the Strawberry Fields Kit. It sounds so delicious and summery, and I could see myself adding some fresh goat cheese or feta to this salad to spice it up just a bit, but I like that it has some of my favorite elements already in place. The Chicken Taco and Pear Gorgonzola also sound really good though!

  4. We have a Restaurant Depot right by us and I’ve always wondered what they have! How can I sneak in?

Jen – All you have to do to get in a Restaurant Depot is find someone with a membership (you have to be a restaurant owner to get one) and then you’re in. Come to St Louis and you can go in with me!!!
