Well – I made it an entire day without dairy and gluten (except for that little miss at breakfast this morning with the veggie bacon) and let me tell you – I feel really good tonight.
I’m still going to be journaling my food for a bit, but after today’s eats I feel like I may have found the culprit. No rush though.
Jason took Linsey to run errands this afternoon while Regan and I finished the laundry and enjoyed some cartoons on the couch. When they got home he got busy making us dinner.
TACOS!
I had this one plus a second after it was gone, but there was no dairy and no gluten. I filled my taco with re-fried black beans, hummus, shredded lettuce and this yummy (and somewhat sweet) salsa.
This dinner was definitely filling, but I still wanted a little something sweet when it was all over. So I took my time and enjoyed two of these little brownie/cookie things I stumbled across at Whole Foods the other day.
They are small, but two of them pack a mighty big (sweet) punch!
Once everything was cleaned up and put away from dinner I helped Linsey with the last bit of her holiday homework while Jason gave Regan a bath. Linsey and I couldn’t help but chuckle at all the screaming coming from the bathroom. Regan wasn’t into having Daddy give her a bath and he seemed to get it over with pretty quick! Maybe he sees that getting her in the tub, bathed and dressed for bed isn’t the easiest job after all…
Apparently she wore herself out getting that bath (I told you bathing is sometimes not worth it) because when the girls and I sat down to enjoy some snuggle time this is how I found her.
Does this prove that personal hygiene is overrated AND a work out??
Time to get Linsey into bed and then drag myself in to take that overrated shower.
At least I won’t have to worry about washing my hair tomorrow. Getting up at 5:30 to work out is just about all I can stand in the mornings.
Nighty night…
In my age, as in my youth, night brings me many a deep remorse. I realize that from the cradle up I have been like the rest of the race – never quite sane in the night. ~ Mark Twain
