toddlers, big kids and tunes

This past week all Linsey and Regan have done is fight.

They fight when they wake up.

They fight while eating breakfast.

They fight while brushing their teeth.

They fight while driving to school.

They fight when I pick them up from school

And then they continue to fight ALL night long.

At bedtime they fight over who will get read to by whom.

Jason and I can’t win!!

So I have been very excited to have a way to block their fighting out.

Have you guys seen these??

I had not until I was contacted by Atomic PR to do a review of the Sony Walkman W series…

The official music player of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, the Walkman W Series is a one-piece, water-resistant, quick-charging 2GB music player perfect for the runner focused on overcoming the rigors of the course-not fussing with earbuds, cords or a dead battery.

(Editor’s Note: I was given this product to review for free from the company, but my review is my opinion and my opinion alone. I was not compinsated in anyway beyond the free product.)

After my good friend put some music on the headset I was stoked. My iPod has been dead for months and running with no music is simply no fun. I’ve been using my walkman for a week now.

Here are my thoughts:

  1. The cordless walkman is an awesome idea!! Fighting with a cord bouncing against your chest or getting caught in your clothing is no fun. The general design of the walkman looked awesome and intrigued me greatly.
  2. The earbuds don’t fit well in my ears (but when Jason used it they fit him great!) so running with this walkman was not an option. The bouncing popped them out every few feet and I was constantly adjusting and readjusting.
  3. On day two of using the walkman I opted not to run and I put the small cord over my head like headphones as opposed to behind and around my neck. This fit me much better, but running still wasn’t working because the bouncing still popped them out of my ears. I think the ear pieces are just too bulky…at least for me.
  4. The battery was fully charged on my first day of using it (Tuesday) and I’ve used it every morning with sessions ranging from 30 minutes to 45 minutes each. There is still quite a bit of battery life left which is a major plus!
  5. The sound is perfectly clear. The songs sound great and having music in my ears again has made me happier than I can explain. :)
  6. The settings on the walkman are great! On one side you have the options to set it on straight play or shuffle. On the right side you have the play, pause and skip buttons as well as volume control. With the touch of a button I can skip a song, turn down the volume or stop the music all together. It’s super easy once you figure which button is which.
  7. All in all the walkman is a GREAT addition to an iPod or disc man, but I did have trouble running with the device. Jason used it while riding his bike and had zero problems with the ear pieces popping out. Maybe I just have oddly shaped ears!!

And since Sony is such an amazing company they have given me not ONE, but TWO sets to giveaway to you, my lovely readers!!

Here’s how to enter…

I have a punishing workout regimen. Every day I do 3 minutes on a treadmill, then I lie down, drink a glass of vodka and smoke a cigarette. ~ Anthony Hopkins
