He brought us some good stuff today! It’s like Christmas in July (from Jason’s Aunt anyway)…

NEVER had anything from Crate and Barrel!

A new pot?? I’m waiting to open it until we get moved next month. It’ll be like a house warming present…no?

Then, while straightening up the house this showed up…

Jason said he didn’t feel like cooking or cleaning up after cooking so he surprised us with dinner from Chipotle. He got my favorite too…

VEGGIE TACOS!! I could only eat two of the three though. Super filling with all those veggies and guacamole.

After dinner I did do dishes while Jason gave Regan a bath and then we settled in for the night to watch an old favorite.

When I told Regan we were going to watch The Wizard of Oz she proclaimed (with full on seriousness) I wanna see the lizard! How cute is she??

And check out that shirt!!! That’s my girl…it was a hand-me-down from Linsey, but it works perfectly as a nightgown for the Monkey Girl.

Linsey Update 
She called us tonight! She had a great time at camp and made some friends too. We talked for about 15 minutes, but towards the end of the conversation she started getting upset that she still has two more days before coming home. I think more than anything she’s over tired because about ten minutes after we hung up I texted my aunt to check on her and she told me the kids had already gone to bed. I guess camping really wears the kids out!

I had a feeling deep down that would be her “final answer” but had a little nervousness that she would pass up the opportunity due to homesickness. I know that she’s going to have a great time and be so glad she went!

Dinner ended up being a tad on the sweet side.

In the end I made some banana – chocolate soft serve. It ended up being a little “softer” than I wanted and I tried adding another 1/2 of a banana, but it still was too soft.

It was more like banana – chocolate soup, but it tasted great non the less. It was NOT photo friendly and I passed on posting a picture. In the blender I put 1.5 bananas, 1 scoop Dark Chocolate Dream, splash of vanilla almond milk and 2 Newman’s O’s.  It was quite delicious.

Time for Regan’s bath and jammies.

Happy Sunday evening…

So we had dinner…

all together now.

Then we turned the music up really loud and danced like no one was watching!

I opted to keep my topless dancing photos to myself.

Then my grandmother sent us a couple pictures of Linsey before she headed off to bed.

She’s even sporting her No Meat Athlete shirt from our ASPCA run!!

As you can see she’s doing just fine.

Breakfast this morning was overnight oats.

This bowl is 1/2 c old fashioned oats, 1/2 c vanilla almond milk, 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal, 1 scoop Dark Chocolate Dreams, 1/2 banana and 1 tbsp chopped walnuts. It was filling!

Now it’s just me and Ray and it feels very weird. I miss my Linsey so much, but I know she’s going to have a blast at camp…if she decides to go. I guess we’ll have to just keep plugging along and get through the 9 days by ourselves…

I emailed this picture to Jason earlier and hs response was simple, “We’re in trouble now!”

It was sad.

When we pulled up to the deli this morning my parents had already arrived to pick her up and she had a meltdown.

She wasn’t ready for them to be there yet.

She wasn’t ready to go yet.

She didn’t know if she wanted to go to camp.

But we got her stuff out of the car anyway.

And she got into my mother’s car.

And then they drove away.

10 minutes later they were back and Linsey was crying. She decided she was too home sick and couldn’t go away.

We had a little pep talk and she got back in the car to spend the weekend with my family. She’ll decided on camp Sunday. She may go or she may come home. Or she may call tonight to tell me she’s too sad and I must come get her at once…then Jason will drive the 3 hours to Springfield, pick up his little girl and then drive the 3 hours back home. Who knows?

KIDS!!!

About 11:30 I munched on half of my larabar.

I finally decided on the banana bread flavor and it was delicious. So delicious in fact – Jason stole the other half!!!

Once we closed for the day I had lunch. I was pretty hungry by 2:00!

I went with half of a loaded veggie sandwich on pumpernickel rye and a cup of potato soup. I’m trying to switch things up a little bit, but with this heat I’m sure you’ll be seeing a giant salad again tomorrow.

I managed a 2 mile power walk after I got home. The heat index was right about 106 so running was just out of the question. I still managed to get a 12 minute mile so I was fairly impressed by that!

Jason rode his bike to and from work today so when he got home we walked up to Regan’s school. She was pretty excited to see us both!

We made a little stop at the grocery store to get more almond milk and spinach. I have a hankering for a green monster tonight and was out of the essentials!

Off to make some dinner…

I kind of snacked my way through lunch today…sort of. I started with dessert. The best way to start out I believe.

Linsey and I shared this piece of birthday cake leftover from Jason’s meeting last night. It was a red velvet cake AND a corner…DOUBLE SCORE!

A little later I scarfed down a cup of potato soup topped with a tbsp of shredded cheddar and some green onions. It was so hot it took me forever to eat it.

An hour or so after that I made myself half of a throw together veggie sandwich. I didn’t even need a plate!

This sammie had cucumbers, banana peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, pickels and a slice of swiss cheese all on half of a whole wheat hoagie.

Once we got everything closed down, cleaned up and put away at the deli Linsey and I headed to the bank. Then to pick up Regan. Then met Jason at home to go do a little shopping and get dinner.

We made an emergency trip to whole Foods because Linsey is leaving us for 9 days tomorrow. She has NEVER been away from us for that long – EVER! She’s going to camp with my cousins (who are her age) and they don’t have anything to offer in the ways of vegetarian options (unless you want while bread with american cheese.) We managed to pick up quite a few things that will help fill in the gaps while she’s away.

Then we took her out for a farewell dinner to one of her favorite places and I got a coupon in my email this morning.

The clouds were rolling in fast as we walked into Houlihan’s.

I decided on two small plates for my entree. I went with the roasted asparagus salad…

and parmesan frites…

that come with a triple dipping tray!!

I finished all of the salad, but only about half of the frites. I knew I wanted something sweet so I made sure to save the room for white chocolate banana cream pie.

I love how you can order small plates of everything at Houlihan’s!

If I hadn’t been in public I would’ve licked the plate clean!!!

I didn’t go running today because I thought I had better give my hip a rest. I did get in plenty of cardio by walking up and down the basement stairs finishing laundry and to and from Linsey room getting her all packed.

She’ll be spending 4 days at my Grandparent’s house with my parents. So she has a suitcase for that.

Then she’ll be spending 4 days at camp so she also has a suitcase for that. I managed to get ALL the food we bought for her into this suit case too. I even impressed myself!

We’ve got the girls in bed (after a slight meltdown from Linsey) and I figure I’ve got about 30 minutes before I crash and burn. Hope every one’s having a great evening!!
